So when souts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter's magic, Meira decides to go after herself. Finally, she's scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, and serving her kingdom just as she's always dreamed she would. First thought after finishing the book: Great writing! Wonderful story/plot idea! I really want to read the next one.
This was absolutely incredible!

I really loved that this book!

The writing was fantastic. The characters very real and realistic and LOGICAL!

There were some smaller parts that where not perfect, which is why this book did not make 5 stars for me, but  there were really only the small, little things that were a bit.... ehe but overall this book was fantastic.

It starts out with that the book is based on kingdoms that were centered around the four seasons. How cool is that? And the kingdom of Spring attacked Winter and enslaved its people. How cool? Very cool. Just saying. If you are not interested in that, what kind of book are you reading?

I just never read a book based around seasons and that can control small aspects of its seasons!

It was quite magical in that way.

And the magical aspects about this book where also nicely done. I won't talk about it in-depth because i think that that would be bit spoilers, but lets just say that it was really nicely done with how the magical system works and how it connects the season with the people and the kingdom with its people and all that. It just works and is very nicely done.

I also enjoy the characters. Meria was a pretty good female lead.
For the first few pages she was a bit extreme in her "crush", but that went away rather fast, thankfully.

And since i am talking about characters, one of the small things that i did not like overly much was that the big "mystery" the overall big reveal was not a mystery at all. I saw that coming just about after starting this book. But since the story itself was not build around this big mystery, that really wasn't such a huge deal.

I also really liked that even though there were two guys, there was not really this huge love-triangle about it, because... there was just no love trianlge in the typical sense and i loved that. Because finding a book where there is not a typical overdone love triangle is very rare -sadly. So it was refreshing to find it in a book.

I also loved that this book actually has a real ending. I mean it is written in a way that i really want to pick up the next one "Ice like Fire" and see how that one is written and what it is all about, but all in all the story of this first book could be left alone. What i am trying to say is that this book could be seen as a stand-alone and if you did not love it as much as i did, and are not someone that NEEDS to read a series completely once you start, this book is one of those that don't have to be continued.

I loved this book.
It was fantastic.
The story was great.
The characters enjoyable.
The finally great.
The ending wonderful.
I just loved this.

Fantastic fantasy.
